My dad lives in Florida, I live in Washington State.
As you can imagine that is a decently long flight which takes me all over the U.S. if it's not a direct flight. I have been in instances where it was quite chilly outside and there was some snow drifting around, nothing too severe. For the majority of the flight the pilot will be flying above the clouds so it won't be a major issue.
The main issue with cold weather is the ice that builds on a plane before take off (that's why they're always de-icing them) and if they believe the take-off location or the landing location are not safe, they'll cancel or delay the flight.
These are no fools piloting these planes, remember that in order to make the call to fly through rough weather, they have to go on the trip too :)

You are 13 times more likely to die in a car crash than in a plane. On the other side of the coin ... a car crash is quick .. but who wants to be on a plane at 35,000 Ft. and have it start falling to the ground .. head first .. it would take about 3 to 5 minutes to hit the ground .. I wouldn't want that to happen. Take the car ! And to answer your question .. yes I have flown when it is snowing .. it is no big deal. Good Luck ! :)

I fly back to Wisconsin from California every Christmas to be with my family. It will be fine. No big deal if it snows. There are many measures the crews take to assure your safety, and the planes safe arrival. If it is snowing they will de-ice the wings....worst case, they will ground the plane till the runway is clear enough. Everything will be fine ;o)
Merry Christmas

Never, and I am glad. For one thing, I HATE planes and for me to be in a plane while it is snowing would be pretty scary!
But if the snow is bad enough to be "worried" about then flight would probably be cancelled or delayed for a couple of hours.

Absolutely. But rest assured airport airlines and authorities won't let the plane take off if there is even a remote chance of bad weather compromising the flight. Go see your family!

Yes. I don't mind flying, but it is a little freaky when you have to sit on the tarmac watching them de-ice the wings before take-off. It's totally normal. Bring music and reading material to take your mind off it. If you're of age, have a couple drinks in the terminal and put yourself to sleep for the flight.

It's the runway you have to worry about, the take off and landing on the ice and snow. Otherwise you're above the snow line.

you probable observed ocean white-caps, like countless different posters reported (basically simply by fact of your flight path). yet you will possibly somewhat have the capacity to confirm some snow in case you have been flying over a snowy area. i've got in many circumstances considered small volcanoes erupting on a number of my night-time flights over critical u.s.!
