1. 20 oz x 1 cup/8 oz = 20/8 cup. But 20/8 is written as 5/2 or 2 1/2 or 2.5

2. 7920/5280 mi. Simplify as you think your teacher will approve.

1. A glass of milk is about 8 ounces. that's 1/2 pt. So no.

2. 3/4 ft = 9 inches, which is a lot like the 8 1/2 inch width of a normal piece of notebook, typing, or copy paper. What do you think? Reasonable for a phone book?

Whales, sugar, mouse. In each case, you want something where the number will be manageable. Single digits is ideal. Up to 3 digits isn't bad at all.

Try tons for a whale and inches for a mouse.

As for the sugar, part of the issue is what kinds of tools are actually in the kitchen for measuring. So teaspoons or tablespoons are the ticket.
