With all the talk of the importance of Political Experience, it must not be too important: or Bush would never have made it to the White House. Pretending to be on the side of Evangelical Christians he hi-jacked Christianity to gain the power seat. Political experience didn't even come into play. So what would be your main expectations of a new President ?

Experience he had!! Two terms of Governor of Texas, where actually he was well liked and did a pretty good job.
His father was President which would give anyone a little insight, also.

I am looking for a man with leadership skills. One that is honest, talks straight and has a plan to bring America up to a higher standard of that which has been perceived in the last 2 decades.

That person I believe is Fred Thompson.

I think your question points to the Hillary/Obama discussion, where one camp is saying the other doesn't have enough experience, when neither camp has much.

Two terms as governor is something, but it's not national experience, which is what a lot of folks are referring to. And besides that, it apparently didn't teach GWB much, or we wouldn't be in the predicament we're in now.

What I expect from my president is that they will (a) listen to their constituents, in order to actually be able to represent them; (b) be intelligent enough to function as a representative of the U.S.A, when in meetings with their global counterparts; and (c) have the best interest of the country and its citizens in mind when making every decision.

Magic johnson on Hillary clinton for president......WooooW?
You don't want somebody in there that is young or a rookie at politics," Johnson said Tuesday at a raucous rally in support of presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. "We want somebody in there that knows what they're doing because this job is so huge

Perhaps two terms as Governor of the state of Texas (which is larger than the country of France) doesn't constitute as experience to you, but it does me.
