I am for it. If a person is in pain and is suffering and wishes attempted suicide than why not? To end their pain? I would probably want that myself if I was in pain. I think I heard of a case where somebody had their body completely paralyzed and couldn't physically move at all. How sad?

A religious view is that it's "God's choice", I think that's ridiculous, that God would want someone to live on in agony. Or that someone would live on in agony in the name of a God who may not even exist.

You have a point, but who is to determine whether or not you THINK you are mentally ill and whether you truly are mentally ill. I'm not sure where i stand on whether or not a person in pain should be allowed to end their life, but i'm just saying allowing it crosses a line that brings up the question what are the qualifications of a person who should be allowed to kill themselves? And what if someone claims they are in immense emotional pain rather than physical pain?

I've been in some situations in my life where i feel horrible, but not enough to kill myself. Who's to decide when a person's emotional pain is too much? And also, emotional pain typically does not last forever, i mean how could anyone feel bad for years for having some financial problems or problems with their significant others?

I'm just saying that while in some cases i dont see why you would want to keep a person in pain alive, but if we allow euthanasia who determines who has the right to kill themselves? But i see your point.

A person who is suffering from a terminal disease with no hope of a cure should be allowed to make the decision to end their suffering. The decision should be made while still healthy and in the right mind as a DNR order is. Having gone thru this with my sister and watching her suffer and scream in agony I hope that no one else would have to do this. We should allow them to die with dignity.

I totally agree with Euthanasia.

It should be tried on all Australian Governmant Labor Parties to put all of us out of the pains; we, the people, have voted in!

ps. there are no gods. we are all an act of nature as described by Darwin.
