I'm doing a animal testing research paper and I need some statistics. Tell me what you think of it. Say good or bad with a reasonable why, not like "mean", but like "animals react differently". Thanks!

I think animal testing is absolutely neccesary and a good thing for MEDICAL research. Testing on animals has provided things like insulin for diabetics and many other effective drugs. Penn and Teller's video about PETA interviews people regarding animal testing for medicinal research and could be a good source for you.

In my opinion, animal testing should be strictly monitored and there should be very strict requirements for humane housing and care.

I think animal testing for non-medical procedures, such as cosmetics testings, should be banned.

Testing for cosmetic purposes (makeup, shampoo, soap...) is unnecessary and unreliable. Since animals do react differently than humans, it is not a good way to determine a reaction. Besides, a chemical repeatedly rubbed on an animal day after day is OF COURSE going to have a negative result. So is force feeding it dyes or products. If I was rubbed down with a chemical everyday, I'd get sores too. It doesn't mean proper use of said chemical is detrimental to my health, so where's the validity in the study. There are alternative tests that can be and are performed.

When it comes to medical testing, I'm unsure about animal testing. Some has proved invaluable and life-saving. I can see the validity in making sure a new medicine doesn't kill or seriously harm when it is supposed to be helping and making sure of that before it is put on the market to sell or even used on volunteers. I wonder about the accuracy of these tests though. We are only animals, but we are a different type of animal than what gets used in testing, and that has to have some effect on the results. I'm hoping for more accurate alternative testing someday so this is a non-issue.

No IT is mean. But they use cute animals that could have a nice home to use for testing on human stuff. Why don't they test it on them selves animals have feelings too. There is a dieing baby raccoon down by me and we are saving it and it has feelings because it knows we are trying to help it. How would animal testers like it if we or maybe even animals (lol) did that to them.

For medical reasons, it is necessary. It might not be great, but it is what we have and people AND animals benefit from it.
