genetically altered corn designed for cow feed was accidentally mixed into human food a few years ago. The ground corn, made into Tostitos, among other things, made it onto the shelves.

I ate about 5 chips, drank a beer and went to bed. When my boyfriend came in, my lip was the size of a grapefruit. NO JOKE!

I went to the emergency room and had to explain to the nurses, doctors, police, fire dept and several case workers that he did not beat me. I just woke up that way.

I did not see the reports of this "corn mix-up" until about 3 weeks later on the news, and put the pieces together. I spent $800 in ER bills and had to miss 2 days of work.

I had an allergic reaction. I also have allergic reactions to the chemicals they spray on thin skinned fruit, but that reaction is a bit different. I can only eat organic apples.

One more advocate for proper labelling!!

Well if the Genetic modification is huge like crossbreeding, antibacterial, and the chemicals in the process. People might have allergies. Illnesses can also be a big problem like if they eat the food and it cures them or adds to the illness they will need to know what would be in that food

Rumor has it that the early genetic modifications were sloppy. Unintended genes were expressed.
