Uptown, Lower Greenville, Park Cities and Oak Lawn. Great bars, shopping, restaurants and lots of single people.
Garland is an armpit and Arlington, Grand Prairie andPlano are nowhere close to downtown Dallas.

Addison is the place to be. Its right in the middle of everything. Its a hip place that is affordable. Nice bars and restaurants, only about 10-15 minute drive to downtown Dallas.

MY daughter and I visited Dallas 3 different times and we stayed in Irving-Nice place,nice mall,nice people,and about 5-10 minutes away from downtown Dallas depending on traffic. If we ever move there, and we might, we would live in Irving, we were really impressed with the place!!

Depends on your price range. If you can afford it, Rockwall is up & coming. It may not be as close to downtown as you'd like, but it's nice. Someone said Garland is an armpit - true in the older parts of Garland, but not the newer Firewheel area. Just stay out of East Dallas & Oak Cliff & you'll be fine.

What's your price range? If you can afford it, Uptown or the Park Cities are really nice areas.

uptown or park cities, if you can afford it. dont go garland or arlington they suck. Plano would be the next nicest place, but its far from downtown.

You can try Garland, you have Lake Ray Hubbard close by for some summer fun. Then there's Arlington (Six Flags over Texas), Grand Prairie, Plano,Etc...
