Yes I am sick of hearing about child abuse it breaks my heart to hear about these sad heartbreaking stories. There are so many couples out there who want children of their own but can't. Yes child abuse is a problem we have in world but we do not need to hear every gory detail.

I think the media are just trying to highlight the problem as as best they can.... I know its very hard listening to details of a poor child being assaulted by a monster, its heartbreaking!!

However, i think what the media are trying to do is make child abuse a more openly, talked about subject. Because if its on the news and adults are talking openly about it ....and about how wrong it is......Don't kids pick up on everything they hear??? I think by hearing this talked about from time to time will help them talk about it...therefore if they are being abused or know of someone who is they are going to find it that little bit easier to go and talk to someone about it, to get help!!

as sick and disgusted as I feel about child abuse, i think its important that we talk about it (especially in the media). the more we are open about it, the less stigma and shame can be attached to it. children and adults survivors need to know that its alright to talk about it - even the gory details. the more we hide from it the more power the abusers have. yeah it makes me sad and sick to my stomach, but i'd rather hear the details than give one more abuser more power.

I'm sick and tired of hearing of "sick maniacs" out there hurting kids.

I know it's depressing but sometimes the details have to be told to show the public what monsters the perpetrators truly are.

I agree. Why doesn't the news show some happy things to balance it all out?

I don't wish we didn't have to hear about it; just that it never happened so we didn't have to.
