I was takin Modicon for a year or two, and then my insurance didnt cover the place I was getting it from anymore, so I had to go to another place. They had Modicon but only in generic. I started them after my next period. Was that the right time to start them? And is there any chance I could get pregnant while switching from one to the other? PLEASE HELP!

I did the same thing about 4 years ago, when I was on birth control. I was getting the brand name and switched to the generic for money reasons. They have exactly the same active ingredients, only the fillers are different. They will work exactly the same.

Birth control pills or patches are the best way to prevent pregnancy, but they're very very twitchy. If you miss a day, take them in the morning but wait until the afternoon for one, or even switch brands in the middle of a cycle, you could theoretically get pregnant. This is how my cousin got her first and third children.

Once you're pregnant, you can't get "unpregnant", at least not without quite a bit of trauma. If you have even the slightest doubt about your birth control and you don't want to become pregnant, hold off on sex or use condoms, gel, or other birth control means until you've been through one cycle with the new pills.

If fyou doubt it for the first two months use condoms in addition to the bc pills. That way it will give your system a chance to get used to the new pills, but most generics are less than 10% difference (and that is mainly fillers) from the brand name medication. So you really shouldn't have a problem.
