Depends ENTIRELY on the laws of your unknown Country and/or State.

In the UK, for example, parents have primary authority over their minor children. A kid in England can drink alcohol even in a restaurant if she is with her parents, and the parents allow it. It's perfectly normal for a family eating dinner in a restaurant to all have wine with the meal. The right of a parent to govern their own children takes precedence over the right of the government to regulate drinking.

In the US, by contrast, the State has primary authority over minor children. A minor cannot drink alcohol in a public place in ANY State even if with their parents, and in many States can't even drink at home with parental consent. The right of the State to regulate drinking takes precedence over parents rights.

In my State, ironically, a person under 18 can drink in a private home, if under the direct supervision of their own parent, but once they turn 18 and are officially an adult they can't do so until they turn 21.

The answer is NO. Even if its just you and your parents, its still illegal. You can't drink underage no matter what. You probably would never get caught for it if you were in your own house, but if you did they could charge your parents with something like Contributing to delinquency of a minor or supplying alcohol to someone underage, whatever that crime is called. Plus give you a ticket for underage drinking.

* I don't mean 'you' specifically:) more of a general you.

No! Private property or not, your parent/s or the adult there at the house is responsible. Kids should not be encouraged to drink, they should be encouraged to study hard in school and become somebody in life.

If YOU are alone with your parents and they allow you to have a drink at their house, it's okay. However, if it is a party of underage drinkers, your parents will be arrested. Your parents can't allow other kids to drink.
