9 times 5 = 45 and
8 times 8 = 64. We can continue to factor 64 but not 45 anymore.

There are no numbers that we can evenly divide into the numerator and denominator evenly. 45/64 is the lowest term.

That is already in lowest terms. It can not be reduced any further than 45/64.

By inspection, it seems to be in is lowest term, but lets try to factor the denominator and the numerator out.

45/64=(3*3*3*5)/(2*2*2*2*2*2), and as you can see, there's no number you can cancel out, so 45/64 is already in its lowest term.
if you had something like 16/24
16/24=(2*2*2*2)/(2*2*2*3), as you can see you can cancel out three 2's, which leaves you (2/3)
