When answering, consider a standard scoring league:
1 point per 25 passing yards
1 point per 10 rushing yards
1 point per 10 receiving yards
6 points per any TD
-2 points per INT, fumble
standard scoring defense

My question is, what do you think of a point per reception? Is it a good rule, a bad rule, or what?

i think it over-inflates the WRs value. i wouldn't play in a PPR league as my primary league, but in a less serious league with my co-workers, we do 1/2 pt per reception. with lots of people who were just playing to go along with the crowd, it was easy to put together a dominant group of WRs based on this rule. if you're going to count catches as points, i like the 1/2 point rule better than a full point, which says that simply catching it is as important as gaining 1st down yardage. i don't consider those two things equal. instead of 1/2 point, my brother is in a league where every 2 catches equals a point (but doesn't award half points for odd # of catches).

I'm in an on-line salary cap league that switched to a PPR format this season and it's very cool. Remember, not only do your receivers' value suddenly go up. But, your pass-catching RBs (a la Tomlinson and Westbrook) now are producing at a higher rate.

I'm going to try to talk the commissioner of my draft league into going with PPR next season. As far as I'm concerned, the more points the merrier.

people are blinded by total point scored. The more points they get the happier they are (even if they lose) The ppr only helps WR and QBs (they also get points for it too I assume). Why do you think yahoo made TDs 4 points now.QBs getting more points than RBs.
I guess its what the group wants in private leagues.

i've got performed in a pair... they generally do no longer initiate getting drafted until the very very overdue rounds... like the place you will possibly generally initiate searching for a backup kicker or protection. they are incredibly interchangable from week to week additionally.
