Yes, it is true, you may have lots of friends, but the ones you can count on are usually only 1 or 2 true friends.

I know from a couple past experiences it is very true. You have all kinds of acquaintances in your life time but true friends are very hard to come by. Too many people are all about themselves & what you can do for them.
I have 3 true friends & consider myself fortunate for that. I like my acquaintances, but it's not the same as a friend.

Absolutely true. While acquaintances, and people I hang out with are numerous, TRUE FRIENDS come along so rarely. If you cut off my thumb, I could still count my true friends with one hand.

I think that's true for me. I don't even need to use the whole hand. I have lots of acquaintances, but only three really true friends.

This is true for me. I have three, maybe four now, but only time will tell on that one. I thought I had one more, but she turned out to be a nutcase, and I haven't talked to her since. You just don't know with people, do you?

I suppose that's usually the case! It's hard to get friends you completely trust. But it is possible to get more true friends then 5....just unlikely

Very true, especially now that I've been through HS, college and am in grad school, I know who is going to stick by me and who falls by the wayside.
