"My bad?" I mean, it sounds like an incomplete sentence and it drives me insane to hear people say it...

It is a slang way of apologizing, but does not come off as very sincere. It is for casual use for ghetto slang

It's means "That was my fault."

Have you ever herd someone telling their dog that doing 'that' in the house was "a bad bad thing" well they stick the dog's nose in it?

Thats where the dumbing down of it comes from. (As far as you know.)

This is another example of uneducated people starting a phase that catches on and becomes slang. People you use to like were considered 'Cool' now they are 'Hot'! Go figure! :-)

I use it occassionally. During times when I'm being funny. And I'm nowhere near being a teenager.

I am with you on this. Can't stand that.
Also can't stand when people say something is "racial".
Also, don't like when people say "I am not trying to hear that."

it's a flippant apology..sort of like apologizing without being sorry..first used by gangster wanna be's...
now it has taken root as a familiar expression...
