Monica Seles was one of my favorite players and a great champion and I would love to see her make a successful return but i dont want to see her make a half hearted and unsuccessful return to the game because she was a great champion and i'd rather remember that. I disagree with some of the answers on here that she cant make a comback because the game has moved on and todays players are better because people said that about Martina Hingis and she returned to the top 10 and about Lindsay Davenport but i bet she'll be in top 10 this time next year so to wrap up my answer i would love nothing more than to see my favorite player, the great Monica Seles, back on the tour and possibly on her way back to the top 10 but if she is not fully commited i would just prefer she stay away.

No; I don't think she would greatly succeed.
That is not to say she wouldn't win a few tournaments, but she could not possibly be the force she was ... which, for some people might ruin her superb reputation, though for others, they might just overlook that she has attempted to comeback against the most enormous odds.
Firstly, she is 35, and now considering a 'comeback'. Well she still would probably have to do a lot of conditioning work yet in front. At 35, and a family to attend to, that conditioning required could take more than 6 months.
Secondly, this is now the second personally-CHOSEN break in her tennis career - though the first was more forced upon her [after being stabbed on court] ... but you see, she was never really the Force after that break that she had previously been.
Now that she has mentally chosen a family and another break, I doubt that she could comeback with the same commitment to overcome all the big hurdles.
She won her games on intensity and drive - not on height, or natural strength or athletic ability.
Davenport has had less absence, is younger and does not have to rely on an absolutely intense internal drive towards a goal that Seles relies on.
Her family would divide her loyalties too much to create the absolute drive and intensity she once had.

I would prefer she just hangs up racquet. I loved watching her play pre-stabbing as she was in great shape and in control of everything. When she returned she was no longer as decisive on the court (completely understandeable btw) and her fitness was severly lacking. If she tried returning now, it would be hard to watch as she is no longer a threat. Her serve was never great, footwork and fitness would need a lot of work and she is just too old.
As for Lindsey's return, she has a big serve, reach and groundstrokes, plus she hasnt been away from the tour for as long as Monica. Lindsey was a top player when she went away as well and I don't know who can honestly say Monica was when she left a few years ago.
I think she should just enjoy life, have a family or coach. I do not want to see a player that I enjoyed watching for years go through the agony of losing due to diminished skills (Wilander, Chang or Kuerten anyone?)

I would love to see Monica Seles make a comeback, but I doubt that she will. I don't think she would relish a comeback to just being a top 20 player, it wouldn't be worth it, unless she were able to come back and win grand slams. I would also love to see Jennifer Capriati return, and to me that seems more likely than Seles, since Capriati is a couple years younger.

I would love to see Monica come back next year. I think she could do it but it would take a lot of work to get her in to physical shape to be able to do it because the pace of today's game is so much faster than during the time that she played.

I would love to see her play again, but I don't think she will be able to achieve enough for her to be satisfied. She will not be able to regain her pre-stabbing dominance.
She can make a dent in the top 10 though if she improved her physical shape and stamina. She was always one of the most determined fighters in the game and one of the best returners. Also, who can forget her ability to send the balls line to line, side to side. If the arms are still in it then she should be able to take out most of the current players.

I don't think she can win a Slam after such long lay off, besides she was never the same after the stabbing but she still can make top 10.

I hope she comes back. She was dominating women's tennis before she got stabbed. I hope that she doesn't come back overweight and is fit and ready to show everyone what a wicked two-handed forehand she has.
