The older you get the easier it gets. I know that doesn't help you now. I can just ignore anyone's annoying things now. I FINALLY have the ability not to answer questions I don't want to.
It is very hard to have "meddlesome" people in your life; especially those who do not care at all.

Best thing to do is to walk away. The person who cares the least about a relationship has the most control. If you don't care what they say, they are like nothing to you. Hang in there. People always sticking their noses where it doesn't belong.

For someone who is supposedly straight forward with her husband (and everyone else), I'm curious why that hasn't been applied to your mother? In other words, tell her bluntly you will stop coming over if she doesn't stop with comments. It doesn't matter what her intentions are or if she thinks you aren't behaving like a good housewife.
