I think all we can hope for is to put up with her.
Mine treats me like ----------------- but i am not allowed to say anything.
I will say NO if the day comes she has to live with us.
It will be me or her.
I don't hate her, she is 100% negitive about all things.

My ex mother-in-law is an old scag end of mutton. She's a psychotic munter who spends her time grubbing around in the garden for truffles. She's an old bag of puss off of a hyenas bum.
I don't like mother-in-laws as a species. The are evil and malevolent, vindictive and vexatious to the spirit, as well as being strangers to the truth.
It's a shame they can't drown mother-in-laws at birth so that poor innocent male victims of the dreaded mother-in-law might henceforward be spared that particular form of torture.
Man that was a nice spliff.

Yes. I actually love my MIL quite a bit. My own mom was never the "girly" kind of mom. She never taught me how to do my nails, never knew about salons or day spas, etc. I love my mom but I always missed that kind of "girly" connection. Now I have my MIL. She enjoys the same things, has similar tastes in clothes & is funny as hell. She's just a joy to be around. She doesn't stick her nose into our business and doesn't expect her son to put HER above his wife. In other words, she has a very healthy, mature r'ship with her son where she's not so insecure that she constantly needs drama or reassurance from him that she is loved. She's just a great person & she's welcomed me into their family as a new daughter since the day we met!

My first husband Mom was a Mom from hell. She would compliment you and once you walk out the door tell others how she thought you looked in a negative way. She would gossip. She treats her grand son (my son) totally different then she treats her grand daughter. She is an evil woman who I no longer have to deal with anymore. I am remarried and my Mother in law now was heaven sent. She is a wonderful lady and I love her.

My mother in law died last year. A sweeter, kinder woman never lived. I loved spending time with her. She never had daughters, so she treated me just like a daughter. My husband got his gentle spirit from her. She will always be cherished. I am so sorry you and your MIL cannot connect. Life is much too short to have such drama... especially when you both love the same guy/girl.

Yup, they sure do.
I had a wonderful mother in law for many years. She never butted in, or forced her opinion on us, or anything like that. She welcomed all her sons & daughters in law equally, and loved us all like her own.
Unfortunately, she passed on 2 years ago. But a nicer, sweeter person you could never ask for.
By the way...are you a good in-law to her? If so, I can understand your thinking. If not, maybe you deserve it? Just wondering......
Good luck!

I've liked all my mother in-laws. I adored my last one...too bad her son was an @ss wipe. She didn't half blame me for leaving and said that she hated that I wouldn't be around anymore. I miss her, hell I miss his whole family except his father. We all had some good times and laughs...we used to have a blast. Of course he'd just sit there sulking and being a butthole.

I liked my first mother in law very much. Too bad I couldn't make the marriage to her son work...My (2nd) mother in law leaves alot to be desired. She is petty and selfish, and treats her daughter and youngest boy alot better than she treats her other two sons (one of whom is my current husband). She really plays favorites and that irritates me.
