I attended most of high school years in France...and there are about 11 of us that get together twice a year.

We also had a full school reunion four years ago in Vegas.

The school in DC that I actually graduated from? I went to the 20 yr reunion...actually had a good time! And have attended a summer reunion picnic since, but my heart lies with my France group!

No, I dropped out of high school the year before I would have graduated in order to join the USMC in 1950. I did pass what was then called the Armed Forces Institute High School Level Test with high scores and was invited by my old high school to graduate with the class of 1954. I never recieved an invitation to attend a reunion of the class of 1951 though and I knew no one in the 54 class. I have no regrets, I served my country during the Korean War and the education I got was far more valuable in life than what I would have recieved had I completed school.

I graduated in 1965. I missed 3 reunions because I was out of the states; 5th: in Japan; 10th: in Sardinia; 20th: in Israel. Somewhere along the line, someone with the same name as mine in a town 8 miles away (and 12 years older than I) died. A lot of people thought it was me. Even my closest friend from 2nd grade on (we were supposed to join the Navy together, but that's another story) thought I was dead and was upset because he missed the funeral.
When I showed up for our 30th reunion, I surprised a LOT of folks.
I received a card saying that our 40th would be in October of 05. I never received the packet for some reason so I missed the reunion. Our next (50th) will be in 2015. I'll probably miss it if things go as planned, as I should be retired and in Oregon by then (home town is in Delaware).

My husband and I graduated from the same small town high school in 1968. We've attended a few of the Homecoming weekend football games and one HS reunion party that was for our class. That one class reunion party turned out to be a very pleasant evening. We shared a meal and visited. No alcohol, no wild party. One of the class-members had a terminal disease and we all wanted to see him for what would probably be the last time. Many of us had coped with divorces, the deaths of loved ones, job loss, health problems. We were a sober and sentimental bunch that evening. Even the classmate who had just got out of prison made it to the reunion and got hugs and acceptance. I was proud that a bunch of small town wild redneck kids had turned into a great bunch of late middle-aged folks. We live in another state so that was the last time we were able to be in town for the reunion. I'd like to go to another of our class reunions if we can make the trip.

The last one I went to was just last year,it was the 47th. Last one before that was the 20th, so it has been a spell. I loved seeing everybody, they have gotten to be really nice people, even the ones I didn't much like in high school. It was kind of sad to find out about the ones that were gone. There were a lot of hugs and tears, and now some of us keep in touch regularly. I was kind of curious whether they would recognise me or not, but everyone of them did! I confess I didn't recognise a few of them, but I wasn't the only one and we soon remembered! It was a lot of fun, didn't last long enough. I hope we can do it again while most of us are still alive, and not wait another 20 some years. I would like to see some of the ones who couldn't make it also. Maybe next time.

I attended one. And instead of being adult about things and being nice to everyone there, they separated into cliques. They judged everyone on the merits of what they owned and by the job they held, rather than valuing the person for who they are. The only good thing was the dance I shared with my husband. I will never go to another reunion!

I had planned on it but decided not attend the 50th anniversary of my class' graduation this year. When I gave it deep thought I realized there was nothing to connect me with Brooklyn or the high school beyond my attendance there. But, if you want to sneak a peek at what my high school is like, go to the link below.

Went to my hub's 20 year, his old love of his life was there and won the 'prize' for the most kids--14, got a chuckle from that one. Went to a combined one for my school 3 years ago it was a hoot, we all had some great laughs. Some I had not seen since I was 16 and moved away--they didn't know who I was until I talked, my voice is real deep for a woman and has been the same since I was 14.

I only attended one. About 15 years after graduation. The people I liked in school I still liked. The people I did not care for I still disliked. I guess I went with certain expectations.

One was enough for me.
