how to transport ferrets into the state of California; legal or otherwise?

im moving and need to get ferrets in California. Anyone know of sure ways to get them in the state with little to no complications?

It's not like anyone is going to be at the california line and check your car for items like your just coming from mexico or canada. Just keep the cage hidden under a good layer of clothing but make sure theres air for the fuzzies to breathe.

It is illegal to bring a ferret in to California.
