No, and I feel sorry for all the people I know who do. Many of them never left, so have nothing to compare it to. I do not understand this myself.

Family is important and all, but to never live somewhere else to see if it fits you better and give you something to compare your hometown to in this day and age seems insecure and limited.

Unfortunately, yes, I do.

Even worse, I still live in the same neighborhood next to the same people I've lived by since I was 6 or 7 years old... There's been a couple changes over the years, some have moved and others swarmed in to replace them and there are 3 or 4 new houses but nothing substantial enough to make me forget that I never left this area...

Sort of.

It depends upon what you mean by "town". In my area we have distinct "communities" within "cities" within a "county". I moved quite a bit as a child, so it's unclear in which "town" I was raised. When moving around I was in different communities (one community twice), mostly same city but sometimes different cities, but always the same county. Except for two out-of-state experiences less than a year each.

Whew.

I still live in the house my parents bought when I was 9 years old. I know the history of houses all over the neighborhood.

No got out of there as fast as I could. Midland,TX isn't the most exciting town to grow up in much less stay there the rest of my life. (no offense to anyone who might still live there)

When I leave work today, I will drive past my kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, college, the hospital I was born in, and the church I got married in on my way home.

It's a half hour drive.

No...but if I didn't get married I'd probably still be there.

I moved from Madison, WI to Chicago almost 20 years and and so happy I did!

No, not anymore, but I did up until 4 years ago. I am a long way from home now. Upstate NY...I miss it so much...all my friends are still there.
