Considering the Aussie government seems to love following blindly where ever the U.S government leads, I'm sincerely hoping someone intelligent gets elected for President too...

The outcome of the election won't just affect the U.S...it affects everyone.

The thing is, someone intelligent has to run for president in order for us to vote of them.

However, the intelligent folk never want to be president.

Would be a nice change!

We must give credit to the Republican offering:

an over the hill, mediocre actor,

a pseudo-moralistic Mormon,

A press grabbing opportunist,

and a qualified war hero so trashed by his party that he probably can't get their nomination.

But I like your idea, instead of the above, maybe we ought to elect somebody with half a brain!

Oh, fer fock sake . . . "we" aren't going to be electing anyone in '08. We're going to settle for whoever the big corporations(big oil, pharmaceuticals, defense contractors, etc. . . ) decide will best serve their financial agenda. Same way BushCo. got elected
