My period was due December 3rd. I took a test December 5th or 6th and it was a negative. I took a test yesterday evening after work and thought it was a negative so I wrapped it in toilet paper, put it in my desk drawer( to discard it in a trash can other than one someone might see it) and then looked at it again maybe 10-15 minutes later and it was a postive. Today I went to a Womens Health Center and it was a negative. The lady didnt even have me wait more 2 minutes, it says to wait 4 minutes on the direction thing there, and it said negative, so she wants me to come back Thursday with a first morning sample.
Do you think I'm pregnant? Could it have just not been enough HGc? I've been peeing like every hour or so all day, but I held it for an hour before the test today.. sigh. This is so stressful! My boobs are so sore! I'm so emotional! I won't allow any other excuse but being pregnant for this nonsense!

There is a good chance you could be pregnant. However, because you didn't read the test within the 10 minute time limit, the positive could've been an evaporation line. Or, you could've had a chemical pregnancy and miscarried very early. Try not to get stressed out and take a test in the morning. Try getting a more sensitive test. But be sure to ONLY read it within the 10 minute time limit or else you may see that dreadful evaporation line.
If you get a positive, no matter how faint, it should be counted positive.
Good luck finding out!

Well sounds more like you could be pregnant.
It takes about 4 weeks for there to be enough hormones in your system. You can not trust a test if is has been 10-15 minutes.
The tests at the doctor are really no better than the home tests, except the blood test and they usually make you wait for 6-8 weeks to get this.
Just get another test from the drug store and pee on it tomorrow AM.
You can get false negatives, but most likely no false positives.
The sore boobs are a good sign. Mine hurt like they have never hurt before!

Everyone has HCG in their urine, some more than others, especially if theyre recovering from an illness or their cells are regrowing for some other reason- or if theyre on steroids.
Thats why you dont read it after a certain amount of time. Or atleast thats what I was told, because eventually for most people it will show positive.
I'd wait a week and test again, or just get a home test and use first morning urine (or any other time you've gone more than 6 hours without peeing).

I'm sure its possible. I took a pregnancy test, and it took it around 4-5 minutes it was positive. To be sure, I went to the doctors office and had a test performed there as well. Both were positive. I do not understand why the lady at the clinic did not have you wait long enough. Hopefully you will find out soon! Good luck.

Buy an early response test (like First Response) and try to test with first urine of the day, or get a blood test done. Such tests can detect HcG levels as low as 20 (whereas others only test above 100).
From the sound of it, it doesn't seem like you're pregnant (test is not valid after 10-15 min) but to confirm, would re-test as above.
Good luck.

Although they say that you should be able to get a positive at 2 weeks past your period, I never showed on urine tests until I was about 4 weeks past. I did show up on blood tests at 2 weeks post period date. Get a blood test to be sure.

It could be either way. Since you didn't look at the test until way later I would say that result is unreliable. Definately re-test using an early detection test and first morning's urine. I know it can be frustrating, but be patient.

I'd say wait another 3-5 days (agony, I know) and test again. A positive will remain positive, and if it's negative test again in a week. If that one is negative, I'd say you aren't pregnant.
Good luck!

I would say you're pregnant. A negative can be a wrong reading but a positive can't. If a doctor does it for you & it's positive, he/she never asks you to do it again just to make sure, do they? As for the sore boobies, a defo telltale sign that you are.

you're stressed cause you think you're pregnant. A reading past the time it says on the directions can result in a false positive. You could be pregnant though. Calm down and try to occupy yourself with something calming.
