I am gong to verifiy this with the labor board, but I received the statement below from my employer. I was surprised that although my timesheet states "Overtime - 1.5 rate" my employer was only paying my overtime at the regular rate. I emailed them and this was the response:
Good afternoon. Unfortunately, the cut off for time and a half for is $27.50 an hour. If a consultant makes more than that amount, he/she is not eligible for time and a half and is paid straight time.

I'm sorry for any confusion about this. But that's also standard in the industry.

Never heard of such crap. Overtime is pretty much overtime at 1.5 unless there is some other "benefit" comped in to cover it.

I worked W-2 consulting for a short while (in IT) and hours over 40 were still paid at time and a half...I am sure this is illegal but cant say for sure I only know from my own personal experience.

great interest. i watched the entire 2nd a million/2 and all 3 overtimes. i'm a jazz fan, yet i gotta admit, d-wade is a beast. the warmth did get the earnings of a few calls overdue in the interest, yet it isn't any excuse. the jazz had that interest, and that they gave it away. kudos to the warmth.

You need to update your name to Dunder Mifflin Infinity. I only get time + $6.50 for overtime. This is nowhere near time and a half. But I was aware of this, and there is nothing that says otherwise. So it is common for overtime not to be time and a half, but if they stated this, then they might be wrong.

Yeah - that doesn't sound right. It has always been my experience that if you work over 40 hours in a week, it is time and a half, no if's, and's or but's about it.

not cool....if you make say $10 an hr it would be $15 for each overtime hr..
