Sign the release form. You never know what might happen. they may ask you to explain any blemishes on your credit record and still give you the job. You don't know until you try. After all, alot of people have crappy credit histories! There is no crime in that...

Are you really asking this? My mother has a saying, "Nothing beats a fail but a try", and it's true. Why would you not at least see what they have to say about your credit? It's your credit regardless. Wouldn't you feel better knowing if there was indeed a problem preventing you from getting to where you want to go? So what if it'd be humiliating at first if you got turned down? You'll live, and you'll know what you gotta do next time. Now stop thinking about it and take the plunge.

Hi Ashley,
Don't back out of this one. As others have said, you don't know how much of a real check they're doing anyway. Good luck to you.
A word of caution, though. If you're fortunate and are hired, I urge you NOT to tell anyone about this at your place of work. Next thing you know, a co-worker who doesn't like you will try to use it to sully your reputation or make a grievance against the company for personal gains. Keep this extremely private.

I say go for it, my credit is less than perfect and I landed a good job with the bank. If any company that would worry about credit it would be them. So go for it, better to know what did happen then wonder what would happen.
BTW, I think you will still get the job.
Good Luck

You'll always wonder what could've been if you don't sign it...and besides, if you back out from such a great opportunity only when you get to the "credit check form", I'm sure people will figure out why you turned it down anyway.

I say just let them do it, it can't hurt anything. What if you decline and in the long run it would have been a yes? If you just let them run it you could have a new job, if you don't let them run it then you're out regardless.

Go for it. You'll never have this same opportunity again. Besides, your credit may not be as bad as you think it is.

I would go for it! Especially if it could benefit you, and it's what you want. :) Just hope you didn't ever do anything to really harm your credit.
