Anyone know of any Self-service Car Wash facilities or gas stations with self-wash machines in or near New York City? Thanks.

NO. I lived in NYC since 1972. No such thing.

If this is an automatic car wash or even a semi-automatic type, you are washing your car with recycled water. Some of these places do not even filter the water prior to re-use. Try another car wash and see if you get better results. If you don't, drive through the drier fast so you can park the car while it is still wet. Next you want to use Eagles Wax as you Dry with some clean cloths, following instructions on the spray bottle. You will now have a clean and waxed auto. Or, drive around and find a school group washing cars on week-ends. They will be washing your car with soap and water out of a bucket. You will be helping the group earn money and get to look at the hunky guys or skimpily clad girls, which ever you prefer.

Yes, there is one at BP gas station between 62nd st and 63rd st on Queens Blvd.
