I tried it on 2 computers, removed it and restarted my cpu, tried different ports and still nothing. It used to work fine and all of a sudden went out. I looked in device manager and my cpu recognizes it but it has a yellow exclamation point next to it. It says I need to update the drivers but I have looked everywhere for them (driversguide, google) and still cant find them. Its a mini sd cf-rs205 1gb card reader I bought from ebay. Is there anything that I didnt check?? Do I just need a driver or do these flash drives go bad?? thanks

If the producer's internet site doesnt have a driving force for Win98 this is extremely a threat which you wont have the ability to apply it. look on the flash force field and spot if Win ninety 8 is reported interior the device standards...maximum new flash drives might desire to no longer help it.

The USB interface chip can go bad - had a Sandisk thumb drive go bad once. Sent it off to a company that was able to recover the stored data.

Its dead man. Sometimes they just die; especially if you dont release them from the comp before unplugging it.

Hey at least it was just a flash drive. My portable hard drive just died too, and I treated that damn thing well *grumble*

They do go bad. You could try to "uninstall" it from device manager then reboot. See if you can get it to reinstall it.
