1. Talk to them about their style of communication and ask them to talk to me like they wish to be talked to.

2. Try talking to them that way if #1 didn't work.

3. Insist on seeing a marriage counselor together if those didn't work.

Unlike some of the other answerers, I don't really think 2 wrongs make a right, so I would not encourage you to do things to spite him or stoop to his level; after all, you do want the situation to improve right?

I suggest taking the high, mature road, and if that doesn't work, you can always part ways.

Wait for him to come thru the door and immediately start talking to him like he's a child.
When he finally says something tell him you just needed him to realize that that's how he talks to you. Then let him know you don't appreciate and remind him that your his partner not another one of the kids. Then anytime after that if he does it CHECK HIM GIRL!!!!!!!! Stand Your Ground!!!!!
Good Luck & God Bless

Tell him that you don't appreciate it, sometimes my guy will do that, it's actually more of a condescending tone, and I always call him on it. He usually doesn't realize it, but when I call him on it, he will try to rephrase it.

Let him know that I don't appreciate him talking to me like that. I'm an adult and he needs to treat as one.
