ok, i read twilight, and LOVED it!! It's the most amazing book out there.. I was really excited when i heard there a movie being made after it, and i found out that Kristen Stewart was playing bella! she's perfect for that role.. but then i found out that Robert Pattinson is playing Edward.. edward is described as so freaking amazingly gorgeous in the book that he doesn't even look human.. Robert Pattinson on the other hand is not gorgeous.. or even sort of cute. he doesn't even have any muscle at all, like edward in the book.. I hope this doesn't ruin it for the movie, and hopefully they will find some way to make him seem stunning, but i doubt that.. what do you think?

what were they thinking?? honestly, i dont know too many people who would pick robert over the other choices stephanie had in mind, or gaspard. he is ruining my image of edward. not that i think he's unattractive, but he does not fit the description of edward cullen.

I didnt like that Rob played Edward before I saw the movie until I met him...In the movie he is not as cute as he is in real life trust me!!! but besides that...I think he made a very good edward but he does not match up to the Edward in the twilight book. In the book I pictured Edward as the most beautiful man in the world!!! and how the book describes edward no one in a movie can match up to! the book was just wayyy too good and I dont think a movie could get much better than that!

I think there's still hope, maybe he'll pull it off. He did look pretty sharp in Harry Potter, if he can create that same look it'll be prefect. And i'm sure he can buff up between now and February. I'm just worried about his accent, if he doesn't loose it, it's going to ruin the whole movie!! (although i kinda can see Edward with a british accent)

There is no one in the world who is "so freaking amazingly gorgeous ... that he doesn't even look human". Everyone has their own opinions as to what is attractive and what isn't. When I read the book, I initially interpreted the Cullen family as being very pale, Gothic-looking, a bit frail/thin and not muscular ... and that's not attractive to me at all. I don't recall Edward being listed as muscular, just strong, so Robert's lack of visible muscles doesn't affect me.
Robert Pattinson played a good Cedric in Harry Potter, so I'm going to give him a shot.

Fun avatar you have there, which has me hooked into this question.. of even caring who Robert Pattinson is... but, on your decrip. of the Role... he's NOT NEARLY "freakingly amazingly gorgeous"... at all. He's got good hair, and a good chin/jawline.. but, sorry. He'll ruin the role, for you.. with YOUR expectations (happens, when you read through a book and really enjoy it).
Casting is IMPORTANT. It also shows that the producers have Half a Clue about the subject matter... like the roles of Peter Parker in "Spiderman" & Hugh Jackman for "Wolverine" were inspired choices, but Ben Afflect for "Daredevil" and the older Nicolas Cage for "Ghost Rider", way off base. They should keep looking... there's guys from John Stamos on younger to that blonde-guy from 'Sex in the City'... right through better looking guys on TV, right now across weekly shows that would blow his doors off. (And your socks.)

I think that is it not a good representation of Edward at all. But as long as he can pull off the acting part so if you close your eyes, picture Edward, and you could believe it is really him than you knows it might turn out to be ok.

i totally agree with you!! i HATE robert!! hes so ugly, and is not the edward i imagined... gaspard is my choice!!! he is EXACTLY how i pictured edward!! and hes good looking!! with the pale skin!! robert is soo... ugh.. not gorgeous.. as you said... i am sooo mad!!!!!! but, ill have to wait and see how the movie turns out, but i hope he wont ruin it!!!
