My friend's mom had a stroke FRESH out the womb @ birth. Ever since then, she's been mentally handicapped (all her life). An idiot took advantage of her when she was 14 & got her pregnant, & that's how my friend was conceived. People consider my friend a BEAUTIFUL genius, & they think she's mentally normal with a good head on her shoulders & good common sense & street sense. My friend's mom died @ age 44 earlier this year on August 15 from breast cancer. My friend is still grieving. My friend's mom couldn't take care of her, so she was adopted. When my friend became grown & on her own, she'd visit her mom, & her mom would try to fight her & never wanted her to visit because she (the mom) didn't know any better. They're a Hispanic family from the Dominican Republic, but my friend was born & raised here in the states-in California.

***Sorry for such a long background, but I thought I'd share that. Trying to show that my friend's mom came a MIGHTY long way, despite her handicap.

What a remarkable but sad story. It shows triumph over circumstance... stories like that always touch your heart.
I heard a miracle birth story once, I think I was watching Montel or something like that...
This lady was pregnant and having really bad abdominal pains. They told her it was normal. She demanded an extra sonogram and finally got it. They still said things were fine. (the sonographer wasn't very experienced it turns out)
Anyway, long story short, the baby was growing in her intestines!!! Not in her uterus. I don't know how that baby was surviving and how the woman was moving around (ugh, can you imagine!) But anyway, after she went back to the doctor a million more times and kept demanding them to find out what was wrong - they FINALLY found the problem.. did an emergency c-section type operation and got the baby out. The baby was so premature she had to be on breathing machines and all that in infant ICU for a couple of months but at the end of the story, Mom and baby got to go home together, healthy and happy. Crazy right?

I think it's amazing! Absolutely fascinating! But I do feel a little bad for both sets of twins. I heard about the odds of this happening once yet alone twice to the same couple and I'm hoping that they don't become a weird science project. What else I find fascinating is that this happened in the UK just as the white couple that gave birth to a black baby because of the mother having a black ancestor. You never here about these things happening in the States. Absolutely amazing!

Your friend has come a long way. She is a miracle. Tell her not to waste this miracle of life she was given. God guided her through her life. She is a wonderful person to try to care for her mother after all that time. It was not her mother's fault that she was the way she was and your friend realized that and tried to care for her mom. What a wonderful story.
