My first daughter started sleeping through the night at age 5 months when she didn't need to eat in the middle of the night anymore. Since then she slept from 7:00pm to 6:00am without a blink until very recently. She's now 3 years old and the only change is that she now goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00.

My son who is now almost 11 months has never yet slept through the night. He doesn't need to be fed at night any more but he'll have one good night, two bad nights, 3 good nights one bad nigh, one bad WEEK, one ghood night etc. VERY irregular. And he likes to go to bed until 8:00pm or later if I let him! Advice please. I'm starting to loose it!!!

Agghhhhh...I feel ur pain...we can just loose it together. My son is now 18 months and still does not sleep through the night regularly. Consider urself a bit luckier...my pattern is 2 weeks to one day! My daughter on the other hand slept since day one..i had to physically wake her for feedings. I have been using many advice...make an extra effort to tire him out...sounds cruel but i find when we go to the park or an outing at the end of the day he is pooped! Also u can purchase calming lotions and body wash for infants...i buy faithfully. The weather is always changing but a warm bath before bedtime helps. ANd one more, i find that sometimes the temp wakes him....too cold or hot...so those r a few that are worth trying. Good luck and i hope gets the hang of it before 18 months!!!

Totally the same boat. Kids ages and all! Mine are both girls but if the 1 year old (December 7th) does not sleep through the night soon I am going to have a small freak out session!

She also does not need a bottle. For a while I changed the diaper, tried with and without the paccy, with and with out the night bottle, with and without the night light, with and without the picking up and rocking.

She has good and bad nights. I make sure she is in bed by 7:30 no matter what. If just to give me a break when she is 2 and the habit is set.

Unfortunately I do not have advice or I would not be in such agreement with you. I have just decided that I am going to get up and deal with this for a while so I stop getting mad. I guess it is not forever. And they are cute! Just not as cute at 2 AM! and 3 AM!

Just stick with the bed time, try before the other child and if he cries let him for a while (I am now able to go 30 minutes!) Just hang in there and know I am out there with you every night!

Wow you're soooo lucky. 8 weeks and sleeping 6 to 7 hours? Wow! My daughter is 6 months old and just started sleeping through the night 1 week ago. She normally goes to bed around 9:30 and sleeps til 7:30. So about 10 hours.

All babies are different. My sis didn't sleep through the night until she was a year old, and all 3 of her kids are the same way. My sis finds extended breastfeeding helps her twins fall asleep at 13 mos. She breastfeeds them for dinner and a snack before bed to put them to sleep.

I scared the crap out of my mom and slept through the night, for most nights, starting at 3 mos. I hope my kids are similar (4-5mos would be more realistic.)

They're all different. My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was over 2 and done with teething.
