It means we really care about you and love you as a person like a brother or dear friend. Not being "in love" with you means we don't want to have sex with you or an intimate relationship. For women it has to all be there, sometimes you can love a man so much but just not have those kinds of feelings to take it to the next level.

Theres a difference between being in love and in love with someone ill try and help you understand. You can love a person because they are kind. Than theres that in love is like you enjoy being with that person and your always thinking of them and you know every thing about them . The feelings are very strong. You can feel when they are unhappy and sad or when anything is going on that makes them unhappy.

best of luck

For women there are two types of love.
There's the "I love you, but only as a friend" which means they care the world about you, will share everything with you and will be there in time of need for you. But that's it.

Then there's the "I really love you" - meaning commitment, maybe marriage and family, lifelong relationship perhaps. And of course, consummation (SEX)....
It's simple - you either fit one or the other. Only occasionally does the line between them become blurred, but it rarely happens and usually doesn't work out anyway.
With guys, Ilove you usually means sex..... and perhaps eventually a relationship that may involve commitment......
Clear enough? Easy !!

It's bullsh*t psycho-babble from the LifeTime for Women network meaning, "We have a comfy relationship, and you make good money and are stable and predictable but I want to screw other men. Especially bad boys."

Notice people here use dogs and parents as examples, but they only use this term on men in their lives. Right? Exactly.

You CANNOT love a spouse without being in love with them.
It's an impossibility.

It means they love you as a friend, it's a general kind of love. The kind you have for friends, family etc. But to be in love is the intimate kind, the one where you want to be with each other for ever and have a family.

It means they care for you deeply as a great friend but have absolutely no physical or romantic feelings for you. They are saying I love you as a friend but nothing more.

to be in love is different than loving a guy.
i have a male friend who i love, but i love him like my brother. it is not in a romantic way. i hope that clears things up for you. alot of women say i am not in love with you so you know not to pursue them.

1.) They are dumping you
2.) They do not want to date you
3.) They're afraid you'd misinterpret if you had been friends all along and they were expressing their love

1 and 2 are the most common.
