Calvin Johnson is one thing that made Millen a better manager. And he finally got his team to six wins this year. I'll tell you what that's a heck of an accomplishment for the Lions.

He's done nothing. He is absolutely the worst Pres/GM in the league. His record is 30 wins 80 losses, the worst winning percentage of all 32 NFL over the past 6 years.

Only thing he's good at is drafting wide receivers who fail with first round draft picks.

But hey, this is the Lions and we don't expect much from them here in Detroit. Never have, never will (that is, as long as Bill Ford Sr owns them).

I don't know, what makes him a successful general manager?

The only winning season the Lions have had since he has been General Manager was in 2000 when they went 9-7.

Since then they haven't had a season with a winning record and have had at least 10 losses 6 times.

In 2003 when they went 5-11 they ranked last in the NFL in offensive yards. This year they have the worst defense.

During his tenure they have had 6 head coaches.

The best they will be able to do this year is go 8-8.

How is this successful?

You have asked a similar question before...

This question, like the other, reeks of sarcasm.

I can understand your frustration and dislike towards him...maybe you will get lucky and the Ford's will finally fire him.

I have to say though, that Detroit just seems to be one of those places where nobody but Barry Sanders can go in and be successful. The place is cursed. And what a waste for Barry to have been on the Lions. Too bad he could not have followed Thurman to the Bills...they would have won those 4 Superbowl's in a row, instead of lost.

The ability to select quality wide receivers with high picks.

You know, the kind of wideouts who anchor a franchise, like Charles Rogers, or the mighty Mike Williams.

It's not just any GM who can pass on a Ferrari in favor of a 1992 Hyundai Sonata with bald tires every year.

Successful? Charles Rogers and Mike Williams say hi.

Imagine if you had Andre Johnson and Demarcus Ware or Shawne Merriman (despite his little roid incident) playing for your team.
