Even Rodney McCray will tell you, even if you go THROUGH the outfield fence, as long as you hold onto it, it's an out! Lose it, it's a homerun.

If the outfielder maintains possession of the ball while falling over the fence then the batter is out! If he drops the ball, it's a home run!

If he hangs onto the ball and doesn't drop it in mid-fall, it's an out. There was a play like that in the 1925 World Series, Hall-of-Famer Sam Rice. Look it up sometime, it's a great story.

Out. The play ends when he catches the ball.

Even if the fielder doesn't fall, he just literally reaches his glove over the fence and catches it, it's still an out!

Out! When they catch the ball and fall into the stands, it's not a foul ball, now is it?
