Mark Prior is a mental midget. He shuts himself down at the first hint of soreness. He is not mentally tough, and that shows with his multiple trips to the DL.
The Cubs let him go because he is fragile in the head. I feel sorry for whatever teams signs him. He will disappoint.

The guy breaks down more than a '73 Chevy Nova. As for the Yanks getting him, I have two words: Carl Pavano.
One possible route for Prior is the one for Jason Isringhausen: Highly-touted young starter, hopelessly hurt, converted into a reliever and successful for a while. If someone can do that with him, they may have a bargain. Houston certainly can't do worse than they did with Brad, the Lidge over troubled water. If Prior really can't pitch anymore, it'll be the end of a sad story. He seems to be a good guy who deserves better.

So much talk about Mark Prior as of late, but the fact is this guy is injured so often, can he even make a comeback from all the injures, that he has suffered with the Chicago Cubs? I don't know, he might and he might not, but would you want to take a chance on him? It is too soon to know if he can come back at all next season, and if so, how will he do.

It is a good move, they are getting him at a bargain price with a lot of incentives, if he hit his incentives then they both win, if he breaks down again then he is done and they are not out that much. He is breaking down over and over from several things: excessive use by Dusty Baker, followed by trying to return and pitch through the pain which causes stress on everything else in the arm to compensate for the part that is no longer operating at peak performance.

The past few years he has had one injury after another and may never be as good as he once was. The Astros are taking a chance that will be a high risk, high return situation. If I were an Astros fan I wouldn't get my hopes up that he will be of any help at all.

He's still young but I think we've already seen his best days. As a Phillies fan, I hope Ed Wade does sign him and it blows up in his face..like giving up 5 young players for a roid-free, suddenly skinny again, overrated 3rd baseman.

He's a jinx. Don't sign this guy, he'll just wind up getting hurt. He's damaged goods. It's like dating a girl who has tons of baggage. Through her to the curb.
