Davencus came up trumps with the link. Here in the UK we see it almost every day...cloud permitting, I just hope my binoculars come that I ordered from eBay so I can get a crisper view. The night sky is alive with wonderous sights especially this time of year when the nights are longer and darker.

Pretty much anytime in the evening. It'll be low in the eastern sky just after sunset, but slowly climb during the evening, being visible all night. The same will be true for the next few weeks, at least, though Mars will rise slightly earlier.

Here is the path of Mars in the sky for 2007 through 2008. It will be visible when the background constellations are visible.

Yes, it can be seen in the early evening. I saw it last night just after twilight ended. It has been visible as that bright star in the north east early in the evening for some weeks now. And it will remain visible for many more months, appearing a little farther west each night.

If the sky is clear there, yes you can. It will be quite high in the sky for most of the night.
