If you can actually get the thing apart to clean it out...you can refill it with equal amounts glycerin and water and then add glitter. You can ask for glycerin at your local pharmacy. However, with a manufactured snow globe...you can rarely take them apart.

If you can open it, you can replace the liquid in there with distilled water. Regular water will get bacteria, so you need distilled water. You can get some new glitter or whatever at a craft store like Michael's.

unless you made it yourself there's nothing you can do. the inner contents of a snow globe are rarely even water. its a thicker substance that makes everything fall more slowly. sometimes the inside liquid can get get old and go bad :]

Did you have it in the sun?
Some have a stopper that you can
put water in, or out.

Don't refill it all the way up.
