Have a specific place to put everything. "if you put it away where it belongs, you will always know where it is." I used to tell my kids.

Clean for 15 minutes everyday. It will make a big difference if you are a teenager you can also clean a little while talking on the phone multitask you know. I know teenagers talk a long time on the phone. My oldest is 14 and he keeps his room clean without asking by using my tips and shares his room with a 7 year old.If it is a bedroom making the bed everyday is a real motivater. For my house when I was little my grandmother and my mother lived by a rule of thumb which I found was true when I got old enough to want to use it. If your beds are made and the dishes are done your house is 90% done. It works beleive me. An unmade bed makes a whole room look a disaster and miserable looking. Try to get in the practice of making your bed before you leave your rooom every morning hard to do but can be done. Took me 31 years to accomplish mainly cause hubby was still in it when I left.

Just set aside 15 min each night before you go to bed . Start with the door and move to the left. Once you have completly cleaned the floor left of the door, move to the wall left of that continue until you have gone around the entire room. Only work for 15 min. Start the next night at the left of the door again. You will see that there isn't as much to do and you will move quicker around the room this time. That really isn't that much time, and you will find that once you do that every night for a couple of days it will only take about 5 min each night!
If you jump in and try to do it all at one time you will get bored and stop - but if you work on it 15 min a day it's not so overwhelming - also remember it didn't get that way in 1 day!
Good luck!

Take 3 boxes and label them, Keep, Give Away, and Trash. Start by sorting through your things into each box, as you enter your room make sure you don't bring in any Trash items and as you replace things like clothes decide if they can be Given Away or must be kept or trash. Always try to put things in the same place so you don't loose them, and no, the floor isn't an option. Get into good habits takes practice and sometimes just "making yourself" do the right thing is enough of a good start. Keep in mind once you have things in an orderly fashion that works for you, keep doing it! 30 days and it will be a habit if you stick to a routine.
Good Luck!

See, the kep to having a clean room is to start piece by piece. Start in one postion like a place that gets the most messy. Then gradualy work your way up. If you keep it up you'll have the place clean in no time!
PS: i did this and now im neat and spotless, it also relives stress b/c u feel fresh

I would get some baskets/bins and REALLY go through EVERYTHING that you have. Start the new year out fresh.. Out with the old and in with the NEW.. I like to start with the closet... Go through ALL your clothes... I like to have a DONATE, TOSS, KEEP, and organize accordingly.. Take the unused items to GOODWILL, SALVATION ARMY etc... It's easier sometimes to do this step with a friend...
Once the closet is clear I like to store things by season... I put away anything I cannot wear... I used SPACEBAGS but you can use storage bins or whatever. Just be sure to mark them clearly..
Go through SHOES, PURSES, whatever...
Anything that's NOT clothing needs to be sorted through and delt with accordingly.... I would have a place for "sentimental" belongings.. A nice sturdy bin/box that you can keep school mementos, and things of that nature.. Keep it small and simple.
CD'S, DVD's, VHS, etc... any sort of media can take up a lot of space... I prefer keeping all CD'S, DVD'S, COMPUTER DISKS etc.. in a CASE LOGIC storage binder and do away with ALL the jewel cases.... If you have anything that you aren't using... consider selling them to a resale shop like "the exchange" GAMESTOP or a place like that...
I did this with a friend and she made over $300 just getting rid of books, DVD'S, CD'S and computer games....
Utilize "hidden" storage.. Like behind your door.. I like to hang a long shoe organizer and put make-up, hair accesories and small things that take up space AND get lost... OR under the bed is GREAT for storing purses, shoes, and bed linens... A Queen size bed will hold around 3 storage bins !
Clean out your dresser/desk.... Try to have a place for EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING in it's place...
Once you've gotten rid of the clutter the rest should be easy...
Good luck

for a fast clean you can just make your bed...it always makes it look much better!
for a good cleaning I like to start in one place like..."ok...I am cleaning my dresser first" after that go to all the dirty clothers on the ground...It works for me because i can focus my mind on one thing and finish it before i start another.
I hope you get it clean!
