If you want to fail, no one will stop you.

It doesn't matter how deep the water is, if you know how to swim.

No problem is so big, or so complicated, that it can't be run away from.

Hmm. Unhook your TV. Turn off the computers. Unhook all the phones. Take an ADHD pill or put a perscription Daytrana patch on your hip or waist. Study a little bit at a time. Rewrite ALL your notes, paying attention carefully. Study hard things to say before you go to sleep. Say your notes into a tape recorder and play it twice while you sleep. In the morning, study AGAIN before school. You'll remember it. I guarantee it. :]
*Unimportant rambling*
I used to do that in 8th grade, and I'm currently in 10th. I haven't ACTUALLY studied for a test since I started high school...
*Slightly important confidence booster*
The only reason I did wonderfully on most of my tests so far is because I was there, and paying attention in class. Your conscious mind soaks up information and puts it in the back of your head. If you paid attention in class, you should be fine and at least get a 60 if you study a little. But to get an A you have to study HARD.
Good luck

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Study in a different room, study with friends instead of by yourself, make a quiz and see how you do on it, give yourself a prize for every piece of information you retain, take a 15 minute break every hour and do something you really want to do like text message or watch tv.

Think of this as a game rather than as work.

Make notecards. Notecards have helped me in the past because first you have to figure out what you need to know and then you have to go and look that information up. I've learned you're more likely to retain information if you have to figure it out for yourself. And then once you've studied the notecards you'll be able to tell what you know and what you've got to work on. And I don't know how much you've studied for these tests but be sure not to do ALL your studying last minute. Hope I've helped some and I'm sure you'll do great.

Study until you can't study anymore and you feel ready. The only way I can study is in short increments. I study for about fifteen to twenty minutes and then do something else for a while and then come back and study for a bit and so on. I too get bored with studying but it's got to be done. You can do it! Just stay focused but don't try to cram and don't be discouraged.

You flash cards and make outlines. It will force you to go through all of the material and pick out what is the most important. By the time you have re-written / typed out your outline or note cards you already will know most of the information. Then just work on remembering the things you don't know very well.

I'm like you... and I make straight A's... my secret:

When you are "studying" and perhaps playing computer games at the same time... try to think of what sorts of questions the teacher WOULD ask on the test... write them down, and answer them...

then go back over the questions, eliminating the easy ones and going back over the hard ones...

write the hard ones on a separate sheet of paper... do it over and over for about 45 minutes and you're done... on the test, don't worry... be cool...

It takes me about an hour to two hours depending to finish this...

Study a little bit of information at a time. It helps you retain it. Also, read the hardest stuff to remember before you go to sleep.

Get half drunk!!! Honestly!! It always worked for me!!! It puts u in the perfectly relaxed state that allows you to absorb info!! I swear by it!!!
Take an hour out, relax with a drink, and enjoy the experience of learning from a new perspective!! I'm an Architect... I spent 7 years in study... believe me I know what I'm talking about!!! LOL May seem a strange approach, but with an 'open' mind that only alcohol..... or drugs(NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!)...... you can 'enjoy' the subject, with a renewed take on its meaning..... I qualified with 'distinction' each and every time... I PROMISE!!!
DON'T DRINK TOO MUCH THO!!!

You're smart- do your best. It's not the end of the world if you fail it. from your question it sounds like that might be the first or one of the only things you might fail. You probably won't even fail it because you're in AP Reading, and HONORS Biology.

:D
