Can people stray from their zodiac sign characteristics?

Question

Im a cancer and I know that im prone to have psychic abilities and that Im emotional and into family traditions and stuff. but i am a adventerous and dont really care much about, family values especially the mother along with a thurst for security. am i in denial or have I exceeded the security insecurities? I always get offended when people always suspect me to be so dull like all the cliche personality types of a cancer. my moon sign is capricorn and my rising sign is libra.

oh and my chinese zodiac is the goat. if that helps at all

First of all cancer people think their family is one of the most important things in life, this doesn't means they always want to stay with them all life, is just a matter of discovering and understanding its origins. Wow your moon sign is Capricorn? That weird from what I've read Capricorn moon doesn't really wear their hearts on there sleeves and that's kinda what cancer is known for. Um I'm sorry I don't really know much about Libra rising. But I would like to point out that there are other planets in your chart that affect how you handle certain situations and that has a big effect on your personality especially if you have large number of planets in your moon or rising sign.

ok, this most likely, then has to do with the personality endowed upon you by your first name. Yes, it's true, I'm a Cancer, but having an air sign name similar to the sign of gemini, Even though, yes I do see life through emotional lenses, I'm a fanatic of fun, spontaneity, and all that contains humor; I also get bored easily. Ironically, I have found gemini's with a name that give traits similar to the sign of cancer, and they have been extremely cautious, stubborn, tenacious, insecure, shy, and brimming with emotion.

Zodiacal signs have nothing to do with your future or personality. People as a whole try to generalized everyone into some sort of category so they can say they understand you, but unless they really get to know you they won't get you.

You can have a relationship with just about anyone, but know what your boundaries are as well as theirs. Do not put any stock into what their Zodiac sign is. That can be a hang up on your relationship if you let it.

well, it depends.. have you checked your chinese sign? you can stray a little from your sun sign if your chinese sign dominates it. (in my opinion, anyways).. I'm a Cancer and my chinese sign is the horse. Cancer has negative yin energy, which means you are the shy/passive type of person. the horse sign is positive yang energy so they tend to be the wild and active people.. see my point? so idk. it could be that.. look up your chinese sign and compare it with you sun sign and there should be some differences.. ^.^

Pay attention to your own actual tendencies, and those of your friends also. Then compare them to what their zodiac signs claim that they should be like. Odds are, there won't be much of a match.

Studies show that astrology is bogus. Think about it - a planet or star that is at least millions of miles away from you is supposed to influence or control your life? How much more irrational could something get? The gravitational pull of your neighbor's car is stronger than that planet. But you don't hear people saying that they are adventurous or born leaders or have strong family ties because their neighbor drove a Buick, do you?
