Answer - The first edition of Frankenstein was published anonymously.

Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein.
Shelley was only 18 when she wrote Frankenstein, in 1816 at Lord Byron's villa on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The fact that the first edition of Frankenstein was published anonymously, although dedicated to Charles Godwin, led many readers to assume that it had been written by Percy Shelley.
