It's philanthropist. Philos is the Greek word for love and anthropos is the Greek for man so literally loving man. It's someone who gives extensively to charity and does charitable deeds. For example, Oprah or Andrew Carnegie

Do you mean philanthropist? It's usually a word that describes someone who is interested in helping people. Most of the time it is used for someone who gives money to someone to start a business, or gives money to a charity. Now, in the negative sense, it could mean someone who is a "player," or someone who has lots of insincere affairs!

A philanthropist?? that is someone (generally someone that is famous and well to do) that gives away alot of their money to charities and does good causes for people. Jackie Onassis is an example of a philanthropist. It is like their job to give away money to noble causes.

its actually a philanthropist ( said: fill- an-throw-pist) it is someone who gives a very large sum of money to charity, I.E. bill gates is an extreme philanthropist, and so is oprah winfrey ( usually is someone very wealthy
