Well there also seems to be a thing about men not wearing condoms and not taking responsibility for their actions.

im not sure about going as far as illegal as there are some cases which its fair, like if the baby has a very serious illness or something or wouldnt survive anyway. but in general i dont believe in abortion its wrong and i think everything happens for a reason so its horrible to get rid of your baby when there was a reason theyre coming into the world in the first place. every child deserves a chance to live. and as everything happens for a reason something good would come out of it and having a baby is the best thing in the world ever. when my best friend had her baby she was nearly 18 at the time people expected her to abort even my mum said she should have aborted her baby and it really upset me and made me feel physically sick, im so glad the baby is here and shes 1 now and the best thing ever to happen. i know each to their own but i couldnt personally do it, a baby is a gift and i would be more than greatful to be pregnant i wouldnt consider ending my childs life no matter what happens. i dont hold anything against those who do abort, but as a form of contraception really makes me angry. just the word abortion makes me emotional. i would do anything for a baby as theres a chance i might not be able to have any, so they should be greatful they can have kids at all. hope this didnt offend anyone.

I don't think abortion should be made to be illegal, however i do think that the time limit should be lowered to 12 weeks.

I certainly do not agree with abortion after 20 weeks and my reason for this is because there have been cases of babies surviving after only 21 weeks in the womb.

I also think that all women who get abortions should also be referred for family planning sessions so that they can find the best ways of avoiding unwanted pregnancies again.

I have no doubt in my mind that i will get some thumbs down from the 'pro-choicers', but in my view abortions should only be given when the pregnancy is as a result of abuse/rape or when the baby would have no chance of surviving a childbirth or if the mothers life was in danger if she were to carry a pregnancy to full term. Nothing angers me more than when women have abortions as a form of contraception, which is why i suggested family planning in the above paragraph.

I don't think it should be made illegal, but I DO THINK it should be made less accessable, I think abortions should only take place under special circumstances e.g. concieved through rape or if the foetus will be disabled or has some sort of life altering disease. Also an abortion should not take place after 12 weeks, when the baby develops its nervous system and can feel all the pain, then i concider it murder.
Giving them out free on the NHS is NOT going to stop some naieve stupid teenage girl from having under aged sex is it? of course it wont if she knows the problem can be fixed for free.

First, do you mean should abortion be illegal. My personal opinion is no, abortion should not be illegal because the mother has the right to choose. However, I wouldn't care if legislation was passed illegalizing abortion so long as it contains loop holes to protect the mother's well being. Furthermore, it must contain more funding for adoption programs and special education. Also, it should be accompanied with more funding for real sexual education not abstinence only programs. As for your comment, babies have no right to choose for the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is granted only to the citizenry. Under the current law, citizenship begins at birth. In order for the babies to have such rights, the law would have to be changed to grant them their rights.

Yes they should be made illegal but for some circumstances.
Before you all give me thumbs down a woman I know had 7 she was using them as a form of contraceptive she was so bad that the NHS refused to let her have anymore done.

This is how i figure. If you have a brother or sister or niece or nephew then just think about a doctor pulling their brains out and that you would never have known him or her if the parents had chosen abortion.

I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers and every time i think about abortion it makes me mad as anything.

people say that its not a baby yet. But actually take a min. or two to think about it....you know its a baby...whether you'd like to or not.

and if it comes down to it just give the baby up for adoption instead of killing it.

i think that abortion should be illegal under CERTAIN circumstances. like if the parent has HIV, or AIDS or something.. the kids shouldn't have to suffer! or if their mom is an addict to heroine or coke so right away the NEWBORN baby is an addict.. then theres a slight acception. anything else is the persons problem.. they can put it up for adoption after birth if they cannot take care of it. but anytime you have sex there is a risk of getting pregnant.. everybody truely should know that.

plus.. the children CAN feel the pain while being killed!

* by the way; the people giving me thumbs downs are completely and totally heartless. i wish your parents would have been as heartless are you idiots and got an abortion.

Yes. Even if the mother does not want the child, she shouldn't kill the child. The child is still a human being even if it is not yet alive. There are adoption agencies for unwanted children. Who knows, the child could be the next Einstein or Maire Curie and killing the child would be a really foolish thing to do. And even if the child is not a genius the child is still a human being who should be respected.

Yes, even if the parents can't take care of the baby/don't want the baby, there's always someone out there who will want it.
