I was just in my living room watchin night time telly! When the whole sky turned like a Greeny colour but it was sooo bright that it looked like daylight again! it like moved across the sky and lasted about 5 seconds!!
It actually freaked me out lol I've looked on the local news but theres nothing about it!! My brother who missed it said it could of just been one of those Really BIG illegal fireworks!! (but there was no BANG!)
Does anyone know what it could of been???

Probably fireworks... but just a flare. No bang. Your chances of seeing a natural event of that magnitude like a meteor are close to none.
But if you did see a meteor... congrats! That was very likely the first and last one of this size in your lifetime!

Most likely a fireball. I have seen two green meteors in my life. They both left fiery trails in the sky. I have always wondered what would burn with a bright green flame as it heated in the atmosphere?

If you live in Key West, there is something known as the Green Flash that happens every so often right at sunset. I saw it once and it was exactly what you describe.

Depends on where you live. If you are far enough north, you could have been looking at the aurora boreallis.
