Well I assume it was right-justified? if so you should use dots to space it out correctly:

...* * U *

Assume that each of the letters 'THISFUN' represents a unique digit.
'THIS'+'IS' = (1000T + 100H +10I + S) + (10I + S )
= 1000T + 100H +10*2I + 2*S

F = 100s digit of 'THIS'+'IS' = H + [I≥5]
i.e. F is either H or H+1, depending on whether I≥5

The rest looks very unconstrained, so why not pick
I=5, F=6, H=7 etc.
