Okay, so I got some really bad period pain (came on 5am this morning) and while every girl knows about heat patches and hot water bottles and painkillers; I don't have any of those things.

How can I relieve this enough that I can carry on doing the things I need to do?

haha Tim the funny thing is that I am actually a total stoner, but trust this to be the one time when I'm too poor to buy any!

Well my first suggestion would be smoke a little herb, the egyptians used 2 give marijuana 2 childbirthing mothers in order 2 eliminate their pain. So the precedent has already been established. Best of luck!~~

Stay relaxed. Anytime you feel extreme cramping, don't panic! Curling into a ball, digging your nails into your arm, grabbing your stomach, all those things will just further and prolong the pain. Tell yourself that the pain will pass (and honestly it will) then do your best to tolerate it. Also, focus on really happy things, like things you're looking forward to or fun things you've done in the past.

Also, avoid greasy foods at all costs. Eating fish while on your period has been highly recommended. I've never tried it because I don't like fish but I'm sure it's probably helpful.

You'll make it! Hope I helped some.

I'm sorry about your pain -- it is absolutely no fun.

A washcloth that has soaked in very warm water and then placed on your abdomen can help. Also try a warm bath, stretching, and exercising (can relieve cramps). In the future, to avoid bad cramps, try to avoid caffeine and lots of sodium right before your period. I hope you feel better.

What I do for my daughters when they're hurting, I take a towel and iron it until really hot then put it on the ab over their cover and as it cools off a bit, they put it under the cover directly on their stomach/pelvic area.

Helps them, I do have to heat it up a couple of times there, but hey I'm their dad and that's what I'm here for.

Good luck.

Exercise is good for it! Take a walk, try some stretches or take a nice hot bath! Or... do what i do! Hit another part of your body so hard all your pain focuses on that! xDDD

Try a hot bath....
eat a banana
stomach crunches (the activity will relax muscles)
if you have a bf or husband or friend there to help..have them massage your lower back and belly

Get a facecloth and soak it in hot water and put it on your stomach around where your uterus is.
