Is it just me or is he the most annoying person in the world and we would all be a lot happier if we never have to hear him talk again?

No, it's not just you. The man knows a lot about the game, but it's all about him now, not about basketball. It was initially charming when he got excitable, but now he's just become a caricature.
If they botch the surgery, he'll probably just find a way to be annoying in sign language.

You shouldn't wish bad things on other people simply because you think they're annoying. That's the view of like...an 8 year old. Vitale is annoying but more for the reason that nobody's mentioned yet...his love for Duke. They might as well give him an honorary degree for the way he slobbers over them. It's sickening.

It doesn't matter if he is annoying or not, why would you wish such a thing. So very wrong on so many levels. Can't believe you would think such a thing let alone type it in cyber space for the world to see. Think about it. Kindness is always much better.

he might be an annoying announcer, but to wish something bad on someone because you don't like they way they announce a game is just wrong!!!

I would choose him over anyone else.....He makes the games so much better for watching.....You dont hate him cause hes a UNC fan do ya ? thats why most dont like him,
