I just bought a Wii and I do not know much about it. I know it comes with WiiSports, but I think I should buy something else as well. I have a big family of all sexes and ages who like to play.
Any ideas for family friendly games (one or more player is fine). Also, what other accessories should I get for it?

To answer one of your questions, no, there is only one kind of Wiimote. There may be a new version coming out (just like a smaller version) but I highly doubt it.

Mario Galaxy - its mario.. family oriented.
Fire Emblem - role playing game lots of reading and strategy might not be good for family, but great game.
Mario Party (enough for a big family to play all at once if u have the controllers)
Metroid Prime is good
Resident Evil, <~ prolly not a good selection.
its pretty much mario all the way on this.

Definitely Mario Party 8! It is a great franchise number one, and number two everyone can enjoy it. It is a board game, and you have to collect stars and coins to win. You earn stars and coins by playing mini games, where you have to work alone or as a team with other Mario characters to complete a task. There are races, obstacle courses, button mashers, and some just plain silly mini games. You'll love it, trust me!

you should get carnaval games it's pretty fun and its for one or more players. also LOD twilight princess, metroid prime curroption, oh and the classic controller only works on some games. you can also use gamecube games memory cards and controllers. hope this helps

at this time of year youll ahve to see whats available as everywhere is selling out of wii stock try looking on amazon for reviews on games
