what is it, what are the salaries, and what should I do as an undergrad to prepare for a career in international law?

International law includes maritine, treaties, business, trademark and copyright, and others. The salaries are fairly good (right now it would average $100-120 K, but the hours are generally long)--depends on the firm that employs you (this is not something you would probably do solo). As an undergrade, I would focus on international studies, int'l business, or cultural studies (depending on your interests). Be sure to take at least one language, and preferably two. While "everyone speaks English," preference goes to law school grads who have extra language abilities. You need to do well in UG, so pick your major carefully!

Final thought: if you are interested in Georgetown and have the grades, they have a great foreign service major (BFS) that is welkl-respected, as is Tuft's diplomacy program.
