The prime factor of 13 is 13 (13 is prime obviously)
The prime factors of 45 are 3 x 3 x 5

Since they have *no* factors in common that means their greatest common factor (GCF) will be 1.

More detail:
Factors of 13 are 1 and 13
Factors of 45 are 1, 3, 5, 9, 15 and 45
The only common factor is 1 which is therefore the greatest common factor.

P.S. Como is wrong with the answer of 13... that is *not* a common factor of 45. If you want further proof, use the following "GCF calculator" and enter 13 and 45.

13 is a prime number. therefore it's only factors are 1 and 13

45's factors are 1, 45, 3, 15, 5, 9

compare the factors for 13 and 45 and choose the largest.
the largest GCF in this case is 1
