Men Only Please...?

Question

Please be honest. I would like this question to be directed at regular every day married men (or men that have alot of married friends). Men that are responsible, hold a job, take care of their family, kids, etc. Not young boys, lazy, no-good men, etc.

Looking at your buddies, friends, co-workers, other men that you are around that fit my description above... what percentage would you guess of these men cheat on their spouses at SOME point in their life. Married only. Here's my example, please modify it by your experiences:

10% Never
20% Once
30% Several Times
40% Life-long secret relationship

I am just throwing out a guess here. I have no solid proof that anyone I know has or is cheating on their wife. I fall into the 70% Never. I would think that the several times or long secret relationship would be discovered and then more than likely that couple would not be together.

I have been married for 21 years, maintaining steady employment most of my life, and I help raise our two beautiful daughters. Here's what I think:

45% Never
15% Once
35% Several Times
5% Life-long secret relationship

Obviously, I think the percentage of men who never cheat is much higher than you do; most of the men I know who fit your description are completely or mostly faithful. The life-long secret relationship is theoretical in my case, because I don't know any men doing that. I am also putting myself in a minority, because I cheated only once, and since that was about 10 years ago, I'm sure I'm not going to cheat again.

I really do not know where all these cheaters are but the crowd I run with does not cheat. Most of us have been married long enough that when we are away from the wife we prefer the company of other men more than chewing off another bagfull of headaches dealing with another woman.

I'm sure there are people who fit the big cheat profile. The married guys I know follow their kids to school and youth sport functions or sail, ski and race cars. Who has time for "the chase".

I believe the ones that cheated once, more than once and lifelong are the same ones. Honestly, there's alot of men that talk the talk that don't actually cheat. They just think they are players. The average Joe isn't going to get laid going down to the grocery store. He may go looking but that's about it, and if a women just offered, then maybe he would cheat. The cheaters are the ones have have designated power. Upper Management, Supervision etc;. The men cheat for lust and the women cheat for capital gain. That is, in general. This is only my opinion.
